No charges filed by DOJ against George Zimmerman for killing Trayvon Martin.
The department of justice announced today it is closing its investigation into the killing of Trayvon Martin and failed to charge George Zimmerman with any civil rights violation. Federal prosecutors concluded there is not sufficient evidence to prove Zimmerman, intentionally violated Trayvon Martin's civil rights. The Freguson, Missouri civil rights case involving Michael Brown, seeks to determine whether then-officer Darren Wilson used unreasonable force and intentionally violated Michael Brown's civil rights when he shot the unarmed teenager. Like in the Martin case many expect the Justice Department will not be able to bring federal charges against Wilson.
